Inkh I was lucky enough to see this group perform with Thank You Scientist (as well as other great artists) a month or so ago in Cleveland. That is how I discovered this group, and now I've fallen hopelessly in love with their music. It really takes me on a journey of sorts. Heh, also neat to hear that "I Shall Consume Everything" was partly? inspired by Zelda: Majora's Mask. =) After I heard them perform that track I had to investigate the rest of their discography! Favorite track: I Shall Consume Everything.

Wedhro For something so strongly rooted in old school Genesis-style prog the risk of being cliché or simply not good enough was present but The Tea Club delivers a solid, inspiring album you don't often hear from nowadays (or even classic) bands. Impressive quality and creativity. Favorite track: Firebears.
Peter Jones

Peter Jones Despite having musical roots clearly in early Genesis era prog rock, this album takes in a wider set of influences, going beyond any repetition. The mixture is quite unique. The overall production is very solid. Favorite track: Firebears.

FIREBEARS (Lyrics by Patrick McGowan and Dan McGowan) Someone left the door unlocked Now all the wolves are getting in, getting in Someone left the window open All the vultures are circling, circling Better to wake the dead Than to stir the living A new day I will see all this pass into a new day We recommend never more than once So as to preserve memory Never more than once So as to appear ordinary So as to instill calm We recommend a mask-like appearance I hear the scavengers Or was I dashed upon the rocks It all went blue, it all went blue If you can’t sleep at night, we recommend that you turn on the television There’s a man outside, he calls himself the Witchfinder General He can put you to sleep with his sleight of hand Sleight of hand, sleight of hand He speaks to us like no other And the walls come crashing, the walls come crashing down But I will not go with fear in my heart Despite the constant whimpering In these days of broken men And in between the familiar sounds Resides the glowing electric womb We could not get away And when we woke up All was still and strangely awake I hear the scavengers Or was I dashed upon the rocks It all went blue We have found you to be obsolete We have done away with childish things You must remember We have given up And so will you We have done away with childish things We have found you Obsolete Insignificant We have done away with childish things I watched as you spun your web You spoke with grace and bitterness That was what gave you away I watched as you spun your web I could not get you Your impression out of my eyes I watched as you spun your web I could not taste the bitterness And though you go on and on I hear the world tell me you’re just a voice inside my head But we We will not go away We will not be afraid We will not go away Though you recommend That we go back to sleep We’ll wait for you to pass away I think I’ll lay here awhile And listen to the voice inside my head But in between the hypnotic sounds We escaped the infected womb We thought we found a way But when we woke up They had given the enemy a new face I see a light off in the distance But I will find you with or without it.

THE ETERNAL GERMAN INFANT (Lyrics by Dan McGowan) C is for Chocolate Wolf H is for Horseman and A is for Amazing Pete O is for Orange Cream and S is for Straw Hat where she hid the Meteorite Key P is for Pepper Witch O is for Orange Rose and I is for Ivory's Tin N is for Number Nine (Strawberry Number Nine) T is for Twelve Little Pigs They weren't even aware The more that they guessed, The worse they were off Knives, there were Yellow Knives C is for Clover 'Shrooms H is for House of Cakes A is for Along the sea O is for Orange shore and S is for Star Wheat House What a tale, for certainly! P is for Pink Wood House O is for Orange Moon Cakes I is for Ivory's key N is for Number Nine (Strawberry Number Nine) T is for a Triumphee! Nobody knew his name The more that they guessed, The worse they were off Float to the Yellow Sky You're not even aware Of the path, and the covering of ice Wicked Waterfall From here on out, you'll be slipping all the time Then the Wolf appeared, Dressed as a man, Told me about all his friends He gave me a book and Through the woods we went So I could meet the rest There in a Blue House, They shook my hand, Told me the Wolf was their King All the trees smiled there Everyone was dressed in gold, With books like mine They stared but never Read the inside, For an hour or so every day This gave them energy, So I did the same and stared For three more years I woke up one night To see a moon beam Shine on the tree with the huge grin I looked intently and Saw that it's smiling bark Was only paint When I looked back at the house, It burst into flames, Then everything turned to black When I woke up I was Running in circles Where the house should have been

MISTER FREEZE (Lyrics by Dan McGowan) Cold, in the sun, From the mountain snow The well is dry With frozen water Word to the wise, When this city stands Before its mouth And listens, No one hears their name I never knew you And never will The door is closed The pages are full Better be sure You’re a wise and great man, You're on your own And will be For a long, long time In my head Are the fruits Of your labors In my head Are the fruits Of your labors Your labors That failed my mind, body, and soul Your labors That failed my mind, body, and soul

I SHALL CONSUME EVERYTHING (Lyrics by Dan McGowan) Give some more, That's what you're here for Come, now go, Through me It won't be long, Well, maybe later... Don't stop 'til I say Give some more, That's what you're here for Come, now go, Through me Don't stop now, Give 'til the last drop Pierce its film, So I may taste the yolk... (Don't forget, on a sunny afternoon All the time that was accounted for Goes through me Maybe you can Pry it out Of my mouth All the time that was accounted for All the time that was accounted for...) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As I go forward thinking rubbing holes in every page, Ships will be leaving in the night Growing uncertain I can see, now you wanna know why, He's human, after all As I eat every diamond word, ripped to shreds between my teeth I'm not worried by the scabs Off the clock, off the record, stop the tape, take me in my sleep I knew you were gonna pull this More give me more give me more give me more give me No one wants to long for this Mr. Punch comes to life, rips every word to shreds between his teeth Give me more of the same Give me more of the same Give me more of the same I shall consume everything ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moon, thy gentle glow doth wither among them Thy gentle glow doth wither Thy gentle glow doth move We ran too far and further along still We ran too far and further We ran too far and knew Only some will live forever like us Only some will live forever Only some will live forever...

"...Quickly Quickly Quickly... shows no little ambition and skill and could show a lot of so-called prog bands quite a few tricks that don't rely on cliché..."
